Title: Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants; Listing Determination for the Scripps's Murrelet and the Guadalupe Murrelet | |
Abstract:
We will develop a listing determination for two murrelet species, the Scripps’s murrelet and the Guadalupe murrelet, which inhabit the warm offshore waters of the Pacific. The two species breed on islands and offshore rocks at the Channel Islands, California, and to the south along the Baja California, Mexico, coastline. Foraging occurs along the coast from Baja California, Mexico, north to British Columbia, Canada. We will designate critical habitat, to the maximum extent prudent and determinable, for the two species, under the Endangered Species Act, as a separate rulemaking action (RIN 1018-BA23). |
