Title: Administrative Requirements Under the Pittman-Robertson Wildlife Restoration and Dingell-Johnson Sport Fish Restoration Acts | |
Abstract:
This rule is an important part of the regulatory framework that drives conservation and working relationships between conservation agencies at the State and Federal levels that rely on one another to carry out the provisions of the Wildlife Restoration and Sport Fish Restoration Acts. States rely on the Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) to appropriately distribute finances from trust fund and excise tax revenues, and the FWS relies on States to implement eligible conservation projects. This relationship requires regulations to be regularly updated to reflect joint decisions and clarifications needed to ensure consistent and appropriate approaches to disbursing funds and accomplishing conservation projects. This revision will help to reflect several new decisions that State and Federal partners have agreed upon, and to clarify language in clear and precise terms. |
