Title: Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants; Critical Habitat Designation for the Black Mudalia | |
Abstract:
Under the Endangered Species Act, we are required to designate critical habitat, to the maximum extent prudent and determinable, concurrent with a listing determination for a species. We are developing a listing determination for the black mudalia, a small species of aquatic snail, as a separate rulemaking action (RIN 1018-BA58). The black mudalia occurs in shoals and riffles, clinging to gravel, cobble, boulders, or logs. It is found in Jefferson and Blount Counties, Alabama. |
