EPA/OCSPP RIN: 2070-AK18 Publication ID: Fall 2016
Title: Trichloroethylene (TCE); SNUR for Non-Aerosol Spray Degreasers
Abstract: The EPA is proposing a significant new use rule (SNUR) under the Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA) section 5(a)(2) for certain uses of trichlorethylene (TCE). This action would require persons who intend to manufacture (including import) or process this chemical substance for an activity that is designated as a significant new use by this proposed rule to notify the EPA at least 90 days before commencing that activity. The required notification would provide the EPA with the opportunity to evaluate the intended use and, if necessary, to prohibit or limit that activity before it occurs.
