Title: Fraud and Abuse; Revisions to the Office of Inspector General's Exclusion Authorities | |
Abstract:
The Affordable Care Act (ACA) significantly expanded the OIG's authority to protect Federal health care programs from fraud and abuse. OIG updated its regulations to codify the changes made by ACA in the regulations. At the same time, OIG updated and clarified the regulations pursuant to the Medicare Prescription Drug Improvement and Modernization Act of 2003 (MMA) and other statutory authorities, as well as technical changes. |
