Title: ●Eliminating Unnecessary Requirements for Sampling Pumped Bacon | |
Abstract:
The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is proposing to rescind the regulations at 9 CFR 424.22 that require FSIS to collect samples of pumped bacon from producing establishments and analyze them for nitrosamines because FSIS no longer conducts this testing. FSIS also is proposing to amend its labeling requirements for meat and poultry products to establish new definitions for cured and uncured. |
