Semiannual Agenda of Regulations

AGENCY: Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction.

ACTION: Semiannual regulatory agenda.

SUMMARY: The Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) is publishing this agenda as part of the fall 2012 Unified Agenda of Federal Regulatory and Deregulatory Actions. SIGAR reasonably anticipates having the regulatory matters identified below under development or review by the agency during the next year. The next agenda will be published in spring 2013 and will update this agenda through October 30, 2013. Publication of this agenda is in accordance with the Regulatory Flexibility Act (5 U.S.C. 601 et seq.) and Executive Order 12866.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: SIGAR is publishing its fall 2012 agenda as part of the fall 2012 Unified Agenda of Federal Regulatory and Deregulatory Actions, which is coordinated by the Office of Management and Budget under Executive Order 12866. Publication of the agenda is in accordance with the Regulatory Flexibility Act (5 U.S.C. 601 et seq.). SIGAR's participation in the Unified Agenda is voluntary. The complete Unified Agenda will be available to the public at the following website: www.reginfo.gov.

Pursuant to the Inspector General Act of 1978 (5 U.S.C. App. 3), Inspector General Reform Act of 2008, and the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2008 (Pub. L. no. 110-181) SIGAR has rulemaking, supervisory, and oversight authorities relating to Afghanistan reconstruction. SIGAR must issue a number of procedural rules relating to the function and operation of SIGAR as an independent oversight agency. SIGAR expects to include any such projects that it reasonably anticipates considering before October 2013 in its spring 2013 agenda.
