THE BIRTH REPORT IS EXECUTED AT A FOREI SERVICE POSTS BY PARENTS OF U.S. CITIZEN CHILDREN BORN ABROAD. IT IS THE PRIMARY MEANS OF ESTABLISHING THE U.S. CITIZENSHIP OF THE CHILD AN IS ACCEPTED AS PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP UNDER 22 USC 2705. IT IS USED AS PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP FOR PASSPORT, SCHOOL, EMPLOYMENT AND OTHER PURPOSES.
