The Rural Utilities Service (RUS) is amending regulations for the Water and Waste Disposal Programs Guaranteed Loans program. The changes would allow RUS to update the existing regulation to better reflect current commercial lending and servicing practices as well as best practices learned from other RUS guarantee loan programs. The changes would also streamline the processing of guaranteed loan applications, reduce processing time and, in some cases, reduce the documentation required to apply for an RUS guaranteed loan while still protecting the Agency's interests. Additional information regarding servicing activities are also proposed which would reduce the time required to service delinquencies while protecting the interests of all parties involved.
