EDA is proposing to update the regulations implementing the Regional Innovation Program (13 CFR part 312) to clarify certain provisions based on recent experience operating the program and to remove provisions more appropriately communicated to potential applicants through an EDA Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO). Provisions that are more appropriate for a NOFO include the program requirements for applying for these grants in a particular fiscal year that may change from year to year to reflect Administration priorities or changing economic circumstances. Moreover, those interested in the specific requirements of such grants generally know to review grants.gov for those requirements rather than the regulations.
