This action would revise the NMFS regulations at 50 CFR 600.1200-1203, which regulate shark fin removal, possession, transfer, and landing, under the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act (16 U.S.C. 1857).  The proposed revisions would implement the Shark Fin Sales Elimination Act enacted in the James M. Inhofe National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2023 (sec. 5946(b); Pub. L. 117-263, Dec. 23, 2022).
