On September 11, 2024, BIS published a proposed rule that would amend the Bureau of Industry and Security’s (BIS) Industrial Base Surveys Data Collections regulation by establishing reporting requirements for the development of advanced artificial intelligence (AI) models and computing clusters and requested comment on the proposed changes. This rule will be withdrawn per Executive Order 14236 issued on March 14, 2025.
