DoD is proposing to amend the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement to implement sections 893 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017 to revise the requirements for review of contractor business systems. This proposed rule implements section 893 by authorizing third-party independent auditor reviews of contractor business systems, and thereby eliminates the need for further review of the contractor business systems by DoD. The authority applies to contractors that have covered contracts with the Government that make up more than 1 percent of their total gross revenue, except in those exempt from using full cost accounting standards (exempt from 41 U.S.C. 1502).
