DoD is proposing to amend the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) to update and clarify exceptions to the use of Wide Area WorkFlow (WAWF) for electronic submission and processing of payment requests and receiving reports. The rule will amend the DFARS to reflect the current exceptions to WAWF, which include classified contracts; when contractor submission of electronic payment requests and receiving reports is not feasible; when the contracting officer grants permission for the contractor to submit payment requests and receiving reports by specific, temporary, non-electronic means; or when DoD is unable to receive a payment request or provide acceptance in electronic form. The proposed rule also updates DFARS Appendix F and removes obsolete language from DFARS 246.370 and its related clause at DFARS 252.246-7000, Material Inspection and Receiving Report.
