DoD is issuing a final rule to amend the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) to repeal the contract clause 252.223-7002, Safety Precautions for Ammunition and Explosives. The information in this clause is related to contractor performance and responsibilities in accordance with DoD instructions and manuals and should be included in the performance work statement. The DFARS clause is unnecessary and can be removed. The removal of this DFARS text supports a recommendation from the DoD Regulatory Reform Task Force.
