DoD is proposing to amend the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement to implement section 1024 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021.  Section 1024 amends 10 U.S.C. 2631 by revising the section title and text.  The amendments, in part, include:  (1) new waiver and annual notification requirement to the appropriate congressional committees if any waiver is granted; (2) that any corrective and preventive maintenance or repair work on a vessel under contract pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2631 be performed in the United States (including any territory of the United States) to the greatest extent practicable, unless waived by the Secretary of Defense; (3) new definitions for reflagging or repair work and corrective and preventive maintenance or repair; and (4) new compliance requirements, including past performance.
