DoD is proposing to amend the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement to implement section 853 of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 and sections 845 and 1603 of the NDAA for FY 2021. Section 845 updates and expands the list of components for naval components and for T-AO 205 class vessels that DoD must acquire from manufacturers in the National Technology and Industrial Base.  Section 1603 further amends 10 U.S.C. 2534(a), redesignated as 10 U.S.C. 4864(a), and amended by section 845, to require that acquisition of a star tracker, used in certain satellites, is obtained from the National Technology and Industrial Base. Section 1603 also provides guidelines for exemptions and clarification of delegation authority.  Section 853 of the NDAA for FY 2023 expands the list of components for naval components to include T-ARC vessels in addition to T-AO 205 class vessels that DoD must acquire from manufacturers in the National Technology and Industrial Base.
