This rule provides guidance on the implementation of the Freedom of Information Act, as amended by the Electronic Freedom of Information Act Amendments of 1996. The amendments will ensure appropriate agency disclosure of information and offer consistency with the goals of section 552 of title 5, United States Code. The revisions to this rule are part of DoD's retrospective plan under Executive Order 13563 completed in August 2011.
