This part establishes guidelines for the award of National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) Fellowships, as required by 10 U.S.C. 2191. NDSEG fellowships shall be awarded solely to U.S. citizens and nationals who agree to pursue graduate degrees in science, engineering, or other designated fields of study to be of priority to the DoD. The revisions to this rule are part of DoD's retrospective plan under Executive Order 13563 completed in August 2011.
