This rule proposes to exempt certain portions of Researcher Vetting and Security system of records notices from 5 U.S.C. 552a(c)(3); (d)(1), (2), (3), and (4); C(1), C(4)(G), (H), and (I); and (f) of the Privacy Act, pursuant to 5 U.S.C. 552a(k)(1), (k)(2) and (k)(5). The exemptions aim to prevent disclosure of classified national security information, investigatory material compiled for law enforcement purposes, and employment suitability determinations. Certain requirements of the Privacy Act may interfere with the effective execution of these activities.
