This rule follows the December 3, 2021, transplant system modernization request for information and proposes changes to the standards used to evaluate and recertify organ procurement organizations. This rule would also propose changes and clarifications to the competition and decertification process for organ procurement organizations. Additionally, based on information received as a result of the transplant modernization RFI, topics that may provide the opportunity for program improvements could be included in this rule.
