This rule would revise the special rule for the African elephant (50 CFR 17.40(e)). Interstate commerce and export of ivory would be restricted, except for antique specimens and certain other items. Import of sport-hunted trophies would continue to be allowed, but the number of trophies that could be imported by a hunter in a given year would be reduced.
