This regulation updates how State fish and wildlife agencies receive funds and implement conservation projects under the Pittman-Robertson Wildlife Restoration Act and Dingell-Johnson Sport Fish Restoration Act. Under these Acts, FWS distributes annual apportionments to States from trust funds derived from excise tax revenues and fuel taxes. FWS published a proposed rule that includes changes and additions to definitions, changes to the requirements for license certification based on work done with State fish and wildlife agency directors, additions to eligible activities, and updates based on current authorities.
