The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has received a petition to remove the golden conure (Guaruba guarouba) from the List of Endangered and Threatened Wildlife or to reclassify it from endangered to threatened status. If warranted, we will publish a proposed rule under the Endangered Species Act to downlist or delist the golden conure. If we find that downlisting is warranted, we will consider including the conure on the ESA section 4(d) rule for parrots at 50 CFR 17.41(c).
