FWS will make a final determination, on our proposal to list the oblong rocksnail (Leptoxis compacta) as an endangered species under the Endangered Species Act. This snail is found in Alabama. FWS determined that designating critical habitat for the oblong rocksnail is prudent but was not determinable at the time of publication of the proposed rule. The Act allows the Service an additional year to publish a critical habitat designation that is not determinable at the time of listing.
