This rule will update the list of migratory bird species that are protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, by either adding or removing a species, based on new taxonomy and evidence of natural occurrence in the United States or U.S. territories. This rulemaking action will also update the List of Endangered and Threatened Wildlife to correct the taxonomy of several species of birds that are listed under both the MBTA and the Endangered Species Act of 1973, as amended.
