FWS will make a listing determination, based on the best available scientific and commercial data, for the salamander mussel (Simpsonaias ambigua) under the Endangered Species Act. This mussel is found in the Mississippi and Ohio river drainages of the central United States. FWS will also propose to designate critical habitat for the species, if prudent and determinable.
