<RULE_TITLE>Standards for the Humane and Healthful Transport of Live Wildlife to and From the United States</RULE_TITLE>
        <ABSTRACT>

This proposed rule would update and expand the requirements for humane and healthful transport of live wildlife to the United States. The current regulations, found at 50 CFR part 14, subpart J, have not been updated in 30 years and codify the 1992 International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) Live Animal Regulations (LAR), so the Fish and Wildlife Service will review and update them as necessary. Also, current regulations apply only to imports of wild mammals and birds. This rule would cover imports of taxa beyond mammals and birds, such as reptiles and amphibians, as well as exports of these taxa.
