FWS will make a listing determination, based on the best available scientific and commercial data, for the western bumble bee (Bombus occidentalis) under the Endangered Species Act. This insect is found in the western United States (Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wyoming) and Canada. If we determine that listing is warranted, we will also propose to designate critical habitat for the species, if prudent and determinable.
