FWS is reassessing the listing status of the Massachusetts population of northern red-bellied cooter (Pseudemys rubriventris; previously known as the Plymouth redbelly turtle and listed as Pseudemys rubriventris bangsi), listed as endangered under the Endangered Species Act. The status determination will be based on the best available information as of the time of publication. Based on our assessment, FWS may propose to reclassify the species, unless we determine no change in status is warranted. This turtle is found in Massachusetts.
