FWS will make a listing determination, based on the best available scientific and commercial data, for the Arizona toad (Anaxyrus microscaphus) under the Endangered Species Act (Act). This toad is found in Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, California, and Utah. FWS will also propose to designate critical habitat for the species, if prudent and determinable. This species status determination is included in a multi-species settlement agreement in which the court requires completion of 12-month findings under section 4 of the Act for 76 species by the end of fiscal year 2029. The court order does not provide specific dates for each species but requires completion of a minimum number of actions in each fiscal year. This action counts toward the minimum required number of 12-month findings to comply with the court’s order.
