Executive Order 14219 of February 19, 2025, Ensuring Lawful Governance and Implementing the President’s Department of Government Efficiency Deregulatory Initiative (90 FR 10583), and subsequent implementing memorandum, directed all agency heads to review regulations within their purview and rescind those that are, among other things, unlawful or unnecessary. Accordingly, the United States Fish and Wildlife Service will review the current regulations for the National Wildlife Refuge System at 50 CFR 28 and 35, and we will propose to remove regulations to ensure a less complicated regulatory environment for the American people to use their trust resources and reduce unnecessary and confusing regulations.
