This proposed rule would establish NPS regulations concerning the issuance and administration of commercial use authorizations (CUAs). CUAs are a type of permit that authorizes individuals to provide commercial services to visitors in park areas. The NPS is authorized to issue CUAs under section 418 of the National Parks Omnibus Management Act of 1998, Public Law 105-391.
