<ABSTRACT>

This proposed rule would amend the special regulations for Wrangell St. Elias National Park and Preserve to modify restrictions on the size and weight of off-road vehicles (ORVs) that may be used for recreational purposes in the Nabesna District located in the National Preserve. These changes would better align NPS regulations with State of Alaska regulations to ensure reasonable access under the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act. The changes also would reflect current industry standards for ORVs that are now heavier than older makes and models.
