DOI is issuing this interim final rule to partially rescind and make other targeted updates to its regulations for implementation of the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969, 42 U.S.C. 4321 et seq., as amended (NEPA), codified at 43 CFR Part 46, in response to Executive Order (E.O.) 14154, Unleashing American Energy and E.O. 14192, Unleashing Prosperity Through Deregulation, and in response to the rescission of the Council on Environmental Quality’s (CEQ’s) 2024 rulemaking.
