The rule will revise the current OJJDP formula program regulation, which was published in 1996 and went out of date upon enactment of the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act reauthorization in 2002.  The formula program rules implement the grant program and set out criteria for compliance with the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act.
