This rule amends 17 CFR 447.52(a) to remove the existing list of proscribed countries, upon which ATF denies applications to permanently import defense articles and services. This regulation will inform the public that ATF will deny permanent import applications based on a Department of State list. This change ensures that ATF's decision are based on the most current policies and facilitates consistency between departments. This rule does not generate any costs for the public.
