<p>On April 22, 2024, the Office of Management and Budget published <em>Guidance for Federal Financial Assistance</em>; Final rule; notification of final guidance, in the <em>Federal Register</em>&nbsp;(<a href="https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/FR-2024-04-22/pdf/2024-07496.pdf">89 FR 30046</a>). This final rule revises the OMB Guidance for Federal Financial Assistance. This final rule also directs agencies to implement their agencies Guidance of Federal Financial Assistance before October 1, 2024.</p>
<p>This direct final rule; request for comments, and notice of proposed rulemaking; request for comments, aligns with the Office of Management and Budget&rsquo;s (or OMB&rsquo;s) recent updates to the Guidance for Federal Financial Assistance, formerly known as the Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (Uniform Guidance), found at 2 CFR part 200. This rulemaking amends several sections in the Department of Labor (DOL) regulations found in 2 CFR part 2900. The revisions in this rulemaking provide clarity and guidance to recipients or subrecipients of Federal awards regarding the consistent and efficient use of Federal financial assistance. This rulemaking also provides DOL exceptions to the April 22, 2024, <em>Guidance for Federal Financial Assistance</em>; Final Rule.</p>
