The Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) proposes to revise fall protection requirements in 30 CFR parts 56, 57 and 77 related to harnesses, shock-absorbing lanyards, self-retracting lifelines, and other appropriate fall protection measures in order to increase protection for miners working at elevated heights. This revision would take into account significant advances in fall protection technology since the implementation of existing MSHA requirements and better protect miners from height hazards.
