The regulations govern how OWCP administers the Federal Employees’ Compensation Act, as amended (FECA), 5 U.S.C. 8101 et seq. Regulatory changes under consideration would provide more efficient processing of claims and payment of benefits, more choices and quicker access to healthcare, and stronger anti-fraud efforts as well as fine tuning to reflect statutory changes and administrative practices. OWCP has reassessed its regulatory priorities and resources and decided not to pursue rulemaking at this time. The agency is working to identify other steps to ensure benefits access and program integrity.
