The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) is publishing a final rule following its proposal of deregulatory amendments to its regulations to modernize and streamline the application requirements for wine premises under the Internal Revenue Code.  The proposed amendments also relax some requirements to report to TTB certain changes to the business.  The proposed amendments are a result of TTB’s evaluation of its permit and registration application requirements and consideration of relevant public comments submitted to the Treasury Department in response to its 2017 request for recommendations concerning regulations that can be eliminated, modified, or streamlined to reduce burdens.  The deregulatory amendments  will reduce the amount of information collected in the application and reduce the time needed to complete an application to establish and operate wine premises as well as make changes to the permit or registration.
