The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) requests public comment on possible changes to its alcohol beverage regulations related to allergen labeling. A February 2022 report issued by the U.S. Department of the Treasury ("Competition in the Markets for Beer, Wine, and Spirits") discussed past and potential future proposals related to the labeling of alcohol beverage products with allergen information. The report stated that TTB should revive or initiate rulemaking proposing mandatory information on nutritional content for alcohol beverage products. During February 2024, TTB engaged with the public by holding two listening sessions and opening a public docket for written input on labeling of alcohol beverages to disclose per-serving alcohol and nutritional information, major food allergens, and/or ingredients. Consumers, public health stakeholders, alcohol industry trade groups, and industry members of all sizes participated, which informed the development of proposed regulations
