The Fiscal Service plans to publish an amendment to regulation 31 CFR 208 regarding the management of Federal agency disbursements. This amendment would help implement EO 14247 by proposing changes to improve the Service's ability to mandate that Federal agencies disburse payments in electronic formats. These changes may include narrowing the range of conditions under which an individual could request payment in non-electronic form, or under which an agency could do so. They also may include modernizing the decision process, affording federal agencies with the latitude to determine when non-electronic payments are appropriate.
