The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) are seeking public input on a proposal to amend their immigration regulations to specify that certain nonpermanent residents may be eligible to apply for cancellation of removal without first being placed in removal proceedings under section 240 of the Immigration and Nationality Act. Public feedback will inform the Departments’ consideration of further rulemaking action.
