The Secretary plans to amend regulations on third-party servicers under the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended (HEA), related to existing guidance on third-party servicers; reporting requirements; financial or other compliance requirements; and past performance requirements as a component of ongoing institutional eligibility for participation in Federal student financial aid. This regulation was included in a notice of intent to commence rulemaking which included 3 days of virtual public hearings on this topic on April 11-13, 2024, giving the public an opportunity to share their views on this regulation.
