The Department intends to amend procedural regulations that apply to OCR’s evaluation, dismissal, investigation, and administrative enforcement under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 to facilitate more efficient and effective complaint resolution and streamline the process by which OCR seeks termination of Federal financial assistance to institutions that intentionally violate Federal civil rights laws and refuse to voluntarily come into compliance.
