DOE is conducting a rulemaking to amend the regulations related to alternative efficiency determination methods and alternate rating methods by revising and expanding the application of these alternative testing methods as they apply to testing for the purposes of certifying compliance with the applicable energy conservation standards and the reporting of related ratings for certain consumer products and commercial and industrial equipment covered by energy conservation standards.
