The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) published a final rule in the Federal Register on April 21, 2014, that updated DOE’s test procedures for commercial refrigeration equipment, including clarifications regarding how to determine total display area (TDA).  DOE has identified errors that were introduced in the TDA instructions in the commercial refrigeration equipment test procedures.  This notice proposes amending the test procedures to remedy these errors consistent with the intent of the 2014 test procedure final rule.  Neither the errors nor the corrections in this document affect the substance of the conclusions reached in support of both the April 2014 test procedure final rule and the 2014 final rule establishing energy conservation standards for commercial refrigeration equipment.
