This equipment includes small air-cooled commercial package air conditioning and heating equipment which includes three-phase commercial air-cooled air conditioners and heat pumps less than 65,000 Btu/h. If DOE determines that an amended test procedure would more accurately or fully comply with the statutory requirements (i.e., that DOE test procedures: (1) be reasonably designed to produce test results that reflect the energy efficiency, energy use, and operating costs during a representative average use cycle; and (2) not be unduly burdensome to conduct), DOE must prescribe amended test procedures; otherwise, DOE must publish a determination not to amend the test procedures.&nbsp;Once completed, this rulemaking will fulfill DOE&rsquo;s statutory obligation to either propose amended test procedures for this equipment or determine that the existing test procedures do not need to be amended.</p>
