Pursuant to the 7-year look-back provision in 42 U.S.C. 6293(b)(1)(A), the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is evaluating the test procedures for dehumidifiers to determine whether amended test procedures would more accurately or fully comply with the requirements that test procedures: (1) be reasonably designed to produce test results which reflect energy use during a representative average use cycle; and (2) not be unduly burdensome to conduct.  Once completed, this rulemaking will fulfill DOE's statutory obligation to either propose amended test procedures for this product or determine that the existing test procedures do not need to be amended.
